Beginning in early February 2012, this section of our website will continually be updated with information and resources for coaches in the LGSGSA to assist them in building a well rounded, unified team, preparing the players to compete and succeed in the game of softball. Win or lose we play to honor the game and do our best!
Coaches in the LGSGSA are volunteers; all coaches must pass a background check and attain ACE certification through the ASA organization. The LGSGSA has scheduled a series of training clinics for our coaches. More information will be provided to all coach volunteers in January about the coaches clinics. These clinics help assure the best result for players, coaches, and families that participate.
Coaches in the LGSGSA are also required to attend the preseason Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) training. This training seminar focuses on the strengths of using the PCA's "Double-Goal Coaching" model. A Double-Goal Coach emphasizes Effort over results, Learning as the ongoing priority to emphasize, and the benefit of making Mistakes and achieving optimal development and growth as a result. More information about the seminar content and schedule will be provided to all our volunteer coaches in January.
To volunteer as a coach or other role with the LGSGSA, please use our online registration system or contact us via email info@lgsgsa.org to offer your support.
For our families and coaches alike, our league endorses the professional instruction provided by the organization's training partner, Cutting Edge Softball (CES). The president of CES, Leann Emery, and her team are a tremendous resource for private individual, small group, and team lessons. CES provides a wide range of annual skills clinics on behalf of the LGSGSA. All players in the LGSGSA benefit greatly from this incremental skills training, development, and professional coaching provided by CES.
